The Ethel Woodard Scholarship Fund was established at Church of the Living Word in memory of Mother Ethel Woodard. Mother Woodard was a co-founder and faithful supporter of Bishop Gregory and Pastor Eunice’s vision of the Church of the Living Word (1993). She served as Elder and Mother of the church, planting seeds of love, fellowship, and excitement for God in everyone she met. She started the food and prayer ministry. Her desire was to develop spiritual and educational excellence in all God’s people through prayer, praise and worship to the Lord.
The Ethel Woodard Scholarship Fund was established in May 2002 with an initial contribution from members of the church. The purpose of the funds is to provide a lasting memory of Mother Woodard and to provide scholarship assistance to students who exemplify her many positive attributes.
We are excited about this memorial because it extends to others the spirit of excellence that Mother Woodard gave to Living Word, her children in Christ, family, and her love for Jesus Christ. Mother Woodard loved and cared for children first and then herself.
We also began the Gospel Bucks Store (for the youth ministry) and the Memorial Garden located at the church parking lot entrance in memory of Mother Woodard.
We are asking you to plant a seed of love into a living memorial that will provide scholarship assistance to students who desire to reach higher goals in education and set the example of youth living for Christ.
